Design your own Black Book of Colors!
Design your own page for The Black Book of Colors! Our class is going to create our own Black Book of Colors. You can choose to redo a color that has already been mentioned in the story or choose another color (purple, pink, peach, gold, silver, etc.) You may use the same description that you used when you wrote the description of your favorite color.
Once everybody has completed their pages, I will put them all together so we can read our own Black Book of Colors!

- Grab a piece of black construction paper, a white crayon, and a bottle of glue.
- You’re going to draw an illustration for your description with your glue. For example, when Thomas described green in the story, “He says that green tastes like lemon ice cream and smells like grass that’s just been cut.” (Cottin, Faría, 2009) The illustration was the texture of grass.
- BEFORE you put the glue on the paper, write your description and your name with the white crayon on the back of your paper.
- Now you may start to draw with the glue. HINT: Make sure that the glue is thick on the paper so that when it dries you can feel the texture.
